Valencia Acoge is part of the INMIGRATIONALISM project, a word that arises from the sum of sensationalism and immigration, a term that Red Acoge has coined to point out the bad journalistic practices in the news about immigration and that give rise to fictitious realities, to erroneous concepts about what it means to be an immigrant and that create rejection and incite a reaction of fear in citizens, which hinders the creation of a plural, global, open, intercultural society.
Our task is to analyse in broad strokes the treatment given by the media, taking into account the use of language, the intention, the hierarchy of information, the sources, the contextualisation... in different formats such as television or the written press, to collect errors, to denounce them in networks and, finally, to create a report with what has been analysed in the 8 provinces that collaborate in this project.
